Speaking the Gospel Naturally

Sharing the gospel doesn’t have to be complicated or awkward. When our hearts are shaped by the story of Jesus, speaking about Him can flow naturally in our everyday conversations. This week, we’ll focus on practical ways to bring the hope of Christ into ordinary moments with friends, family, and neighbors, letting the gospel guide our words and interactions.

Listen

What is the Holy Spirit saying? Who do I need to share it with?

Apply

  1. Make a list of the “excellent excuses” we use for not sharing the gospel. Which of these excuses are you most likely to use, and what fear might be underneath it?

  2. We talk about what we love, love what we talk about, and talk about what works. Where does Jesus naturally fit into your everyday conversations? What might that reveal about what has captured your heart?

  3. We must know the gospel, know the culture, and translate the gospel into the culture. What does that look like in your life? Where do you feel strongest, and where do you need to grow?

  4. How would you explain the gospel in your own words to someone who had never heard it? What part of the gospel do you feel most confident explaining, and where do you need to grow?

  5. We don't force Jesus into every conversation; we recognize when Jesus belongs in the conversation that's already happening. What is the difference between forcing a spiritual conversation and being attentive to a genuine gospel opportunity? Where might you look for Jesus in ordinary conversations this week?

Pray

Lord Jesus, give us a deeper love for You and a greater courage to share the good news of what You have done in our lives. Help us to know Your gospel, listen well to the people around us, and recognize the opportunities You give us to point others to You. Take away our fear and give us wisdom, grace, and boldness to speak, and help us trust You with the results. Amen.
