Vision Still Inspires

January 27, 2021

Oh, the places you go! Think for a moment about all the places you go during a predictable week…

  • Work
  • School
  • Restaurant
  • Grocery Store
  • Gym
  • Salon
  • Kid’s Activities

What if you started a church there?

That’s what Jesus commands: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20)

We refer to this as the Great Commission and in it, Jesus gives us the mission of the church – to make disciples. And He says to make disciples “as we are going” which is the literal translation of “go.” In other words, in all the places you go, make disciples. The church was never created to exist within four walls but in all the places we (the church) go.

This week I challenge you to make a mental note of all the places you go. And as you think of those places and visit them, ask God if He might be calling you to “start” a church in one of the places. The church is leaving the building! In an ever-changing culture, it is no longer reasonable to believe the mantra, “If you build it they will come.” It is no longer “come and see” but instead we must “go and be.”

Where might God be calling you to make disciples?
